Curriculum Enrichment

This page will be updated soon

‘It is the essential knowledge that pupils need to be educated citizens, introducing them to the best that has been thought and said and helping to engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.' National Curriculum

By developing cultural capital, we ensure our pupils have exposure to experiences and background knowledge that will equip them with the foundations and cultural knowledge to be successful in future education and careers.

Cultural capital is developed through pupils attending events and venues as well as through their active participation. We recognise that it is vital that the children not only observe but that they actively take part to visualise themselves doing the same in the future. They can then draw on their experiences to create their own artistic impressions and creative performances as well as develop their own skills and talents based upon what they have experienced.

We are committed to providing a wide variety of exciting, stimulating and challenging opportunities across the curriculum and learning is enhanced and further embedded by the range of enrichment activities provided. School trips, visiting specialists, themed days and weeks are directly linked to topics across a range of subject areas and give pupils opportunities to learn in different environments and improve writing outcomes by enriching their vocabulary.
