Attendance
Eglinton Primary School and Early Years Centre is a fun and welcoming place to learn and we place a high priority on good attendance. For our children to gain the greatest benefit from their education it is vital that they attend regularly and your child should be on time and ready to learn, every day the school is open, unless the reason for the absence is unavoidable.
Our school community consists of pupils, parents, children and all staff and together we aim to form a partnership in taking responsibility for excellent attendance. We recognise that parents have a vital role to play and we are aware of the need to establish strong home-school links and communication systems, which may be used when there are concerns for a particular pupil.
Why Every School Day is so important for your child?
When a child develops good attendance habits from the beginning of primary school it:
- Gives every child the best possible start in life
- Enables every child to reach their full potential
- Helps them to establish the experience of a good routine
- Gives them the opportunity in making and keeping reliable friends
