* The amount of time spent in class per week is the same for all children in Reception & Years 1 - 6. The 25 minutes for Reception & Years 1 - 3 is made up as a result of them having a 55 minute lunch.

Arrangements for the Beginning & End of the Day

Reception children enter through the Reception Gate on Paget Rise. Teachers are at the classroom entrance to greet the children each morning. Parents/Carers can say goodbye to their children outside allowing the children to enter the classroom independently.  At the end of the day, Parent/Carers are invited into the classroom where children will be dismissed to them from the carpet.

Our school gates are opened each morning at 8.50. Children are able to enter the school building and make their way to class independently. In class the children are welcomed by their class teacher and have an early morning activity to complete. At the end of the day the children are released to their Parents/Carers in the playground from their ladder.

Collection of your Children

Only Parents/Carers and contacts who are recorded on our records will be permitted to collect your children from school.  Should you need somebody else to collect your children, please telephone the school office to advise us of the name of the person who will be collecting your children.  Please note that children under the age of 16 years old will not be permitted to collect your children.

Late Arrival

If your child arrives at 9.00 for school they are considered late. The member of staff on the gate will take your child’s name to ensure they are marked in as all registers close at 9.00 in the classrooms.

Late Collection

Please ensure that your children are collected on time at the end of the day (3.25pm for Years 1-3 & 3.30pm for Reception and Years 4 - 6 children).  If you are running late to collect your children, please telephone the school office to let us know so that we can reassure your children that you are on your way.  Parents/Carers who persistently collect their children late may incur a late collection charge if they have been taken into Extended Day.

Visiting the School

Visitors to the school must report to the main office on Paget Rise.
